The surface has a rough texture when rubbed, and small holes at the joins are clearly open. Photos under black light are included for verification. Metal fittings show discoloration and signs of use, and the thread is loose. Natural small scratches on pearls are present. Cannot ship on weekends and holidays. Cultured pearls. These are Akoya cultured pearls, grown by a pearl oyster with human assistance (not natural pearls).
Treatment. Akoya cultured pearls are routinely bleached and color-toned ("pinked") as standard industry practice.
Natural variation. Minor differences in shape, luster, and surface are natural, not defects.
Care. Keep away from perfume, cosmetics, and chemicals. Wipe gently with a soft cloth after wear and store separately from harder jewelry.
